Checking out the Forums!

Alright! Over the past two days I've done some research on critiquing websites and I wanted to share my findings. On the list we will review Conceptart.org Polycount Reddit Conceptart.org: At first glance I thought the site looked great. That experience changed upon my very first click. Let me try to paint the picture that is the typical user experience: Click on register, go to a page with a list of LevelUp subscriptions that have no description. You now have two branches: Click pricing at the bottom of the page which takes you to a page that finally describes the service (which is basically throw your money at some guy who might look at your work...by the way you can't find that guy's portfolio...). The second branch is you hit sign up...which leads to failure! This doesn't register you to Conceptart.org, it registers you to LevelUp (and that's if it even recognizes your registration). Motion Graphic Company Video

Data in Context. Driving Insights. from nContext on Vimeo . This is a motion graphic designed for my company's commercial division, nContext. This is one of a few motion graphics that will be posted on the nContext website. This animation was based on a script given to myself and very talented partner Thomas Davis from a couple of our teams Data Scientists. I focused on effects and animation on 00:00 - 0:23 and 01:14 - 01:33. I also was involved with story-boarding and audio recording. Effects were created in Luxology Modo, Adobe Photoshop, and Flash.

Self-Critique

The ability to self-critique is a must have skill that I honestly haven't practiced too much. Most times I rely on others to find things I missed, which is fine if you've given your work a hard look first. I figured this would be a good time to start practicing. *Before I begin I want to share my personal insight into the process of drawing. If you would like to skip this part you can check out my critique below. So many times (character design, sculpting, and modeling classes) when trying to learn to draw I have been given an anatomy book and was instructed on proportion and measurements. I personally do not like this approach and feel it does not cover the entirety of what is needed to really practice successfully.
